Karuizawa Trails

Thanks to advanced snow-making facilities, Karuizawa is one of the first ski resorts to open in Japan every year. Karuizawa provides a variety of terrains geared mostly towards beginner and intermediate skiers. The ski resort has many après-ski activities including shopping, hot springs, sightseeing, and gourmet restaurants.

Skiing and snowboarding are enjoyable sports, but they also come with inherent risks. Before going to the slopes, make sure to check the following points.

①Before getting on the lift, inspect your skiing equipment. Also, confirm your ability to stand up by yourself, walk, and stop with your skis on. Failure to control your speed and being able to stop on the piste can lead to a collision. All accidents within the ski resort are your own responsibility. You are responsible not only for your own injuries, but also for compensating injuries to others.
For beginners, we strongly recommend taking lessons at a ski or snowboard school.

②Familiarize yourself with the rules of skiing and snowboarding. (10 FIS RULES as defined by the International Ski Federation)
[Link to rules: https://www.ski-gelende.com/column/2018/02/13/10_fis_rules/ ]
Skiers and snowboarders should respect each other, follow the rules, and enjoy the sports while looking out for one another.
